Reciprocal Links to JB Forums
Just going through various sites, and I notice that some haven't posted reciprocal links to the forums.
We allow you to post links to your site in your signature, which appears each time you post. This policy represents a substantial benefit to users. Links from this site to yours increase your standing on Google and other search engines and in general raise your online visibility.
We ask in return that you extend that courtesy to us by posting a reciprocal link on your site. It doesn't have to be elaborate. Just a short line of text pointing toward this site.
"John Bridge Ceramic Tile Forums/Expert Tile Advice" http://www.johnbridge.com/forum
Thanks.

Apologies John, I never knew the etiquette for adding other folk's links to my page or not. Now that I figured out how.....

John, guilty as charged. Will add it to my links. Didn't think my little site could help a site as popular as this one.

Appreciate your understanding, and truly it's just part of my ongoing effort to help other tile people with their sites. It's part of your education, as it were.
If you're sitting where Google sits you're faced with the challenge of ranking millions of web sites. Knowing it's impossible to hire enough humans to do the job you resort to using "bots," "robots," "spiders," or "crawlers." All the foregoing are terms used for pieces of software that are turned loose on the Internet with set instructions -- to comb the Internet and bring in the best of the best and some of the not so good so that other robots can arrange it in the "index." The "bots" are charged with parameters based on algorithms worked out by the geeks.
Among the items the bots are looking for is the popularity of a particular web site when set against similar web sites. The more incoming links from related sites, the better. And it's even better when the link is coming from a "quality" site, one that is already well up in the listing.
As for bots, there are numbers of them on this site 24-7, opening every little door and flipping every little switch. I've never peeked in when I didn't find at least a few of the little devils. Sometimes there will be flocks of them here, and they are noticing the links to your site and following them to your site.
So you benefit way more than we do, but we benefit, too, and we appreciate the thought to boot.

Dang John now you gotta me feelin' bad like I took advantage of this site. But really I still have no idea about these robots or bots . But when I figure out how to to a link to here on the site I'll do it. I truly appreciate this site and I like it when HO's do some research on their own so I don't have to sell them so much on doing things the right way.

We have some people here who are ace web site developers. Maybe we can get them together on a web site thread in the Computer Forum. I'll start the thread, and y'all can join in. I'll notify some of the web site geeks we have aboard.
