Slate color band through shower?

A while back, I asked how slate would hold up if used in a shower. The response that I got was that I would not be happy at how fast the slate would start growing "things". I didn't use the slate.

I am getting ready to do a shower stall in a grey green slate looking porcelain that comes very close to matching the Ocean Green slate that we put down in the rest of the house. For some contrast/interest, I am considering installing Ostrich grey or Vermont gray for the bathroom floor with a 4" or 6" color band on the walls.

Do you think that this would be okay to run through the shower? It would be on the vertical walls only and be kept well sealed. Everything would be going over Kerdi (in the shower).

Thanks in advance!
