My suddenly brave (or crazy) wife pulled a raccoon off our golden retriever's undercarriage a couple years ago. It came into our screen porch through the doggie flap. Or possibly rode in on the dog maybe.

She flung him and he went into our brick barbecue where my farmer neighbor dispatched it with his shotgun. Nice guy and a good shot.

My wife wasn't bit or anything, but had to get the full rabies shot treatment anyway... what fun for her. The raccoon tested positive, so it was a wise decision. The goofy dog didn't have a mark on him, but got a booster shot.

Scary situation to be sure, since we had always let my son (who was three at the time) play out on the porch.

Them little buggers are fierce when they're all crazied up.
