Fiberglass Pan or Tile Floor?

I'm re-tileing our shower. Our tract home was built on a tight budget and they used green board behind the shower. Of course the tiles started to pop out. Can you give me some advise I couldn't find in past threads?
1. Moisture barrier. I got some fortifiber building paper (60 min. grade D asphalt paper) left over from another project. Can I use that as the barrier between the studs and CBU? Hate to buy a 300 ft. roll of 15lb felt!
2. The fiberglass shower pan is sound and solid. Keep it in place - or remove it and tile the floor? Sounds like a tile floor is a major project.

Vapor barrier is vapor barrier.

If the fiberglass pan is in good shape, no reason not to reuse.
