Backsplash gap

While dry fitting my backsplash (using mosaic glass tiles) I have discovered that I am going to have an additional 1/4 space (not including the 1/8 for silicone) between the bottom of the cabinets and the top of the backsplash. Should I just leave this gap at the top or split it up and have a 1/4” gap at the bottom and the top? Or is there a better option?

You could space your tile a little wider to make up difference. My not work if tile mosaic is on a scrim.

I've put molding on bottom of cabinets depending on situation.

I've also framed sides and top of installation with Schluter Jolly which finishes edges and takes up a little space as well.

FWIW, no way I'd want 1/4" space at countertop.

Welcome, Annette.

Difficult to say without seeing your tiles, but in the eighteen-inch height of a backsplash it's usually pretty easy to close up a quarter-inch of space with judicious adjustment of the grout joints in the tile layout using some thin wedge spacers.

My opinion; worth price charged.
