1. insert schluter reveal at top and trim tiles to it.
2. add applied crown moulding piece over top of what you have.
3. apply another layer of gyp. board to the ceiling held back 3/4" from all perimeter walls to create a reveal that your tile will disappear into.
4. I have others.............

Thanks... on the schlueter reveal... do you mean putting a jolly Edge so runs flush against the top of the ceiling even if I have to trim that edge?

Off hand as I'm not there currently I believe it to be about an eighth of an inch. Maybe a smidge more. Depending on the tile

I have this same issue. my gap is 1/4" i am thinking of some little bit of molding maybe even some quarter round cut down to 5/16".
With all my different elevations to worry about no slivers if this is all my issue I will be ok.

White caulking, or caulk that matches the grout.

Yeah, caulk. This is one of the only times I use a latex caulk (because it’s paintable). If you can, use a foam backer rod in the joint before caulking to make the caulk perform better and last longer. You can buy foam backer rod by-the-foot for a few cents from a decent old-fashioned hardware store.
