Vent pipe in wall

I am replacing a fiberglass shower with a new tiled walk in. I found this vent pipe which breaks through the bottom plate. The water lines also are very close to the edge of the bottom plate.

I was going to install blocking all around but how do I handle this?

Should I attach furring strips to existing studs or perhaps use a 1" thick Kurdi board and hollow out the back side a bit.

I am planning on using the Schluter tray and I will need to dry pack around it.
Will the Kurdi board be enough support if I put it in first with no blocking?

Hi Jim,

It looks like thin furring strips will get you out past the vent pipe. And you don't need solid backing if you're using Kerdi-board. Just fur out the bottom plate the same as the studs, and bring the Kerdi-board all the way down to the subfloor. Then install your tray.
