Porcelain Tile

Several issues going on. First, the grout haze just will not come off. Have tried just about everything on it and it just won't budge. Second, used pencil on the tile to mark it and now that won't come off either. Not with eraser, cleaner, etc. So my question is did we buy crap tile? Bought it from Home Depot and it is down in the basement. We did 3/4 of the basement in this stuff. Is there a machine to rent that would scrape this grout haze off or is hands and knees the only option? What is the best stuff to use? So far this is a nightmare and we paid to have it laid.

Welcome, Debbie.

You're gonna need to give our people more information to get any meaningful response.

1. What tile is installed? Brand name, make and model. Better still would be a link to the tile online. You currently cannot post hot links, but spell it out with an extra space in the www and a moderator will light it up for you.

2. What grout did you use? Be specific. Brand name, make, model and color.

3. If you paid to have this done, why is the contractor not completing the cleanup?
