Curbless Shower

Nice curb less Kevin.

Hard to tell from the picture but did you set the shower floor and bathroom floor at the same height at the entry or did you recess the shower tile a hair?

Shower tile and floor tile are flush. The floor has a slight elevation difference from door threshold to shower drain. Its oh so slightly pitch for that OH CRAP moment.

Hey guys, been awhile but I finally got something worth showing. This bedroom was a continuation of a bathroom I did in the exact same stone about 6 years ago. I think the blend came out perfect at the door considering the time frame in which they were done. The challenge of this job was the difference in height between the existing original marble and the travertine I installed in the bathroom. There was about 1/4 in difference so I pinned the floor at a slight pitch back to office so that the new tile would catch the old at just the height. Full Nobleseal mat was also installed after the 2000 lbs of floor mud to get the floor up to the level required. Then I sealed the floor with Aquamix's Enhance and seal after is was all said and done.

Non pro kibitzing here, but Kevin, WOW! Was that room professionally designed or did the homeowner come up with all that wonderful surface coordination? LOVE the vanity juxtaposed with the very modern tile and fixtures. Beautiful work on your part. That's a dream bath for me.

Kevin,

why did you run the mosaic different directions when it's the same tile ?
that's the only thing that stood out to me.

Just for that reason. I wanted a different feel but not a lot of different materials.

Jeez Louise, Kevin, you designed all that? I think I have just added a new god to my JB Forum Pantheon

And ftr, I totally appreciated the use of the mosaic in a different orientation.
