Plumbing Code

Seeing our friend Eric (e3) post information on this thread regarding plumbing code requirements I was reminded that I still have no reference library since burning my old library a couple years ago.

One reason for not having a new plumbing code book is that there was serious talk at the time of my book burning of the IPC and UPC actually being merged as a single code for our entire country. IAPMO and ICC being good buddies and cooperating and ............ on went the dream.

Anybody know if that's still at least in the talking stage? I was hoping to hold out for the new book, but think I might hafta give up and just buy a UPC, which I think is still the more commonly used, and hope we don't encounter a lot of questions here involving any difference between the two.

Eric, I know y'all hafta keep up with that sorta thing and I know you keep up with a lotta other regulatory bodies. Any good rumors still afloat?

we're still writing 2 checks !! I dont see it happening so long as both groups are still making money....If I had to go with one it would be the UPC ..

What Eric said. You don't really think iapmo will quit do you?

We're under UPC here, but the IRC has a bunch of IPC in it for comparison. Seems to me they are becoming more similar over time.
