I'm Looking For Some Info. On Where To Look For Special Saws,to Cut Designs ,pattern,logos On Glass ,tile,stone.maybe Someone Could Advise Me Where To Start.my Free Time I Like To Cut And Make All Sorts Of Things With My Unused Tiles. I've Made Outlet Plates ,alsorts Of Designs Animals,etc.i'm Looking For The Tool To Make Shaping Alot Faster And Easyer.i've Made Small Houses Cut Chairs Out Of Slate For There Porchs .just Having Fun ..phil

I've seen tilers and stained glass people use the taurus ring saw for difficult cuts. The taurus does have some drawbacks though.

Mhi What Are The Drawbacks That I Should Know .i Had A Bandsaw With A Sepurating Blade It Did A Great Job.it Just Didn't Hold Up As Good As It Should Have.i'm Looking For A Better Saw That Will Last Awhile.thanks For The Responce I'll Check On A Tauras Saw .phil

Phil,

The drawbacks with the Taurus saw are that they are slow, the blade is expensive and wears out fast. It will do the job, but you wouldn't want to use it for every cut. Its more like a last resort saw when nothing else will make the cut.

The band saw would be more productive, but I'm sure its not cheap.

Mhi I Did Find Out The Blades Where High But If I Used Ice Water It Added Life To The Blade.thank For The Help I'll Chechout The Taurus.the Saw I've Used Didn't Hold Up As Good As The Blades Did If That Tells You Something About The Saw.thanks And I'll Give Taurus A Closer Look .phil

Check out the Gemini Saw Company web site. I own the Revolution ring saw works good on circle and radius cuts to slow for every day straight lay tile work costs around $1200. I purchased mine over the net from Contractor's direct.

I am looking at getting the Gemini Apollo saw for doing intricate cuts and shaping.. it is a lower end version of the Gemini Revolution.. smaller motor and smaller ring blade.. anyone have experience with this product?

to add to this question.. any suggestions for doing intricate cuts in body of tlle without having to cut access route from edge of tile? ( the Gemini Taurus T3 has a ring blade that separates so you drill hole than put blade in.. snap blade together and get busy.. ) this is an even lower end version of the apollo.. more for glass but apparently works on tile as well..
