Correcting Backsplash Mosaic Tile

Hi,

I installed a mesh backed glass/stone mosaic backsplash in the kitchen this weekend. It turned out pretty well for a first effort. There are however a few loose, crooked, and uneven tiles I'd like to correct before grouting.

At the moment, Im thinking of getting more thinset (mixed the whole bag, doh), cutting and popping off the offending tiles/thinset, and resetting them.

Would this be a good way of going about it?

Welcome to the forum.

1- Have Mrs Mike mark the offending tiles. Count them. Take a picture.

2- Use a box cutter / razor to cut around the offending tiles.

3- Use a flat screw driver or similar to scrape out the thinset.

4- Vacuum clean

5- Whip up some new thinset and install the tiles.

6- Before the new batch of thinset hardens, have Mrs Mark approve the work. When she spots 20 more tiles that need repair, show here the picture you took before repeating steps 1-5.

Mrs Mike is happy I finally stopped reading about how to do it, and actually got them up on the wall . She likes the results, but those little imperfections will bugger me every time I see them.
