In a dramatic appeal, wounded former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords urged Congress on Wednesday to enact tougher curbs on guns, saying, "too many children are dying" without them.

I guess Gabby doesn't realize that killing kids is against the law right now..

The logic of " Guns don't make us safe!"

Modern Math:

If you jumped over the barrier and ran toward Mr. O, how many times would you get shot?

Was just looking over the gun stats on Black Americans and saw this.. It appears that gun violence is much more prevalent if you are Black.. I DID NOT check out his stats (MP) but have no reason to disbelieve them.. I would also imagine that inner city kids are more prone to gun violence..
Why not address those issues instead of banning specific guns - this to me make absolutely not sense whatsoever...

Let me type this a little slower for you Frank.

You said:

I NEVER SAID THAT. PLEASE POINT ME TO ONE INSTANCE WHERE I STATED THAT. JUST ONE.

After constantly typing that, and you constantly failing to do so (because I never actually said that), you, once again, typed what you believe I was 'saying'.

Which part is difficult for you?

Even after this:

Which part is difficult Frank? Are you simply not reading what I actually write? Do you assume you know what I believe? Because, to be honest, that's how every one of your responses to me reads. Do you not understand what I write? Do you simply skip over it? What is it? Because you are damn sure not responding to anything I've typed, you're responding to, what seems like, you assume I typed.

Don't bother with a response, you'll likely just type 'What do you mean you want to change the Constitution?' anyway. It's apparent that as long as you have a particular point of view here then you won't get called out on the childish things like the quotes Justin posted above.

Hey Joe, honestly, what would have happened if I had called Frank 'Hey Buckwheat' or a republitard? Or gotten personal rather than responding to what he's typed? Would that have been ignored as well? Would you have typed

Weird, right? The double-standard in this part of the forum is impressive. While most here may disagree with my opinions, I do follow the rules. The same can not be said for some on the 'popular' side of the opinion. This post, by the way, is the first in which I have responded with any type of insult or personal attack, No matter how much Frank feels I've attacked him personally.

What was that about rational discussion again?

I'm gettin the feeling this thread needs to be locked down. It's getting to the point where it's nothing more than finger pointing and rhetoric.

I'm sure that the powers that be will come along very soon and instruct Mark and Laz in the finer points of etiquette, Bodie. Oh? It's been over 24 hours and we've seen Joe comment on this thread four times already? Oh? And even CX has jumped in since the "Libtard" and "Buckwheat" comments?

Nothing nefarious afoot. I've been working on homework and haven't been reading the thread as carefully as I could.

I've gone back and checked the comments and you are right. No problem using libtard or buckwheat if not directed at members of the forum. (edit - in case I wasn't clear - yes, those comments were directed to members)

So here you go - knock it off. Capiche?

Although there is very little productive conversation here I don't think locking the thread is necessary.

Now, who wants to talk about guns or the second amendment?

Crichton-like, maybe far fetched, maybe scientifically incorrect, but certainly interesting fictional account of societal breakdown, One Second After has been a pretty good read thus far. Some of you may enjoy it.
