Backsplash batten board

Installing 2x4 wavy edge subway tiles on 12x12 sheets with an uneven counter top. Small cabinet on left of range is 1/4" lower but level just a different level so granite bridge behind slide in range drops 1/4" in 30" Plan was to screw batten board start second row level and later cut in first row. Went into my garage to rip some batten boards and came across some fiber board drywall shims 48"x 1 1/2 ". Doubled them up and installed with stapler quick and easy for a backsplash and you can manipulate them a bit if needed

New backsplash mounting rods with silicone thoughts

Just finished kitchen backsplash and mounted some accessory rods I didn't want to drill tiles. I used clear silicone on mounts with 2 small dabs of hot glue Pressed to tile hot glue instantly solid hold allowing silicone time to cure. After 3 days installed rods and hung some coffee mugs. Seems really solid mount do you think it will hold

Welcome back, Shawn.

Either it will or it won't, but that's just a guess. I'd prefer some mechanical fasteners were it mine.

you could always mount the hanging rod to the underside of the upper cabinet and not have to run fasteners thru the tile.

Why the hesitation to drill through the tiles?

So I wanted to update rods are still hanging tight after 1 year
My reasoning for not drilling is my wife has tendency to change things up and didn’t want to make holes
