New master bath project

We're starting a new master bath. We're planning to go with a kerdi shower and ditra for the floor. I'll come back and fill in some project details but I'll start out with a dumb question:

Where can I quickly buy/order a Kerdi drain system? I'm in the Chicagoland area if that helps.

I was about to place the drain order online with the expedited ship option when I decided to call, and ended up saving a few bucks when I was told the regular ground will get here in a coupla days anyway.

I'll have to go back for some Kerdi and Ditra after figuring out how much I need since it's no small change.

I'd like to use a board (32"x11.25"x1.5") as a shower bench. It will be supported at the ends on 2x4 blocks and nailed at the back to a stud at 16".

Do you think that's enough support for it to be a tiled (stone) bench? Going by the deflection calculation alone it would seem so, but I want to check with you good folks.

Tom, I'm afraid a 2x12 lying flat, supported at the ends of a 32" span will flex way to much for a tiled bench. The Deflecto tool measures deflection of sawn lumber fixed upright, not lying flat.

A better solution might be the Better Bench, the adjustable model seen here, if you have room for a 33.5" wide unit. http://www.innoviscorp.com/better-bench.php Properly installed it will support 400 lbs.

In term of the Deflecto tool I was treating the 2x12 as the subfloor material and the blocks at the ends as the joists supporting it, but I guess that's not a correct way to treat it.

I totally did not think about the rectangular Better Bench but will look into it. I've seen a lot of the corner one in pictures but none of the rectangular that I can recall.
