How far should wall tile extend past outside of shower curb/damn?

Is there an ansi/TCNA standard that specifies how far wall tile should extend past the outside of the shower curb/damn? Occasionally customers want the wall tile to terminate at the top of the sill on the curb. This makes it necessary to set the curb sill/marble first which leaves a difficult cut around the sill. Any advice is greatly appreciated. It is so much easier to extend the wall tile a few inches past the curb and then set the sill. Not to mention, I believe it look better. Thanks in advance!

To my knowledge there is not, Joe.

I personally think all showers should have the wall waterproofing and tile extending at least a couple inches beyond the outside of the curb.

Setting the tile on top of the curb before or after the wall tiles is purely a matter of choice.

My opinion; worth price charged.
