Hello Team,
Question regarding the 'thinnest' appropriate subfloor, so's i don't bust that toilet flange lifting her up too high.
Tiles are 12x12x1/4.
4x9 bath on main floor, with 3x3 stall shower at one end (shower's Done!

)
The room is centered over 11.5' span from foundation to the nearest I-beam.
2x10 joists, 16" OC, unknown wood in good condition (Michigan, '62).
Over the joists lays 2x6 solid wood planks on diagonal runs across the entire house. Solid house here.
The plan was (based on all good advice here), 5/8 plywood + thinset + 1.4 Hardi + thinset + tile.
What products can you advise, in lieu of ply+Hardi, to trim 1/4"+ off this combi?
Many thanks! (again!)
