doorless walkin shower help

We are renovating our bathroom and taking out the jetted tub (what a waste) and installing a walkin shower. My original thought was glass block. The area is 48 inches by 83 inches, however the countertop is adjacent to the longer side of the tub. I was wondering how that 'seam' between the end of the countertop and the glass blocks would be accomplished and if anyone had a thoughts on that. Just to explain the area again, if you are looking at the shower, the 83 inch wall is straight ahead. The countertop is on your right and it runs toward the 83 inch wall, stopping 48 inches before it.
I know that the glass block wall should be curved at the entry way (draft) and that the entry should be 24 inches. I don't want the blocks all the way to the ceiling.
Some of the showers you see have the uuuugly 'pan' at the bottom. Can't the floor just be tile of some sort?
sorry for so long; I am hoping I can get some ideas.
thanks!
Patricia

Pat, if I understand the countertop issue, I think a partition wall could be built to block the end of the counter, and then the glass block could continue up as high as you wanted. The counter and face of the cabinet would but against the new partition wall.

Curving the entry wall will help stiffen the glass block wall, especially if you don't want it to go to the ceiling.

Yes, you can have a tiled shower floor if you want it.
