Mobile Home Shower

Hi again. My wife has a friend that lives in a Older Mobile Home and her fiberglass shower is cracked and leaking. I've never done a shower in a Mobile Home, will it hold up to a mudded floor or do you think it might have too much movement. No its not the kind of home that you drive. thanks for your help.

Hiya Phil,
It been discussed here and I remember someone mentioning the steel beams could be an issue expanding and contracting a bunch. That being said, my grandmother has a small rental trailer. I tiled the kitchen in it with backerboard and a cheap ceramic five years ago and it still looks great. I wouldn't bank on it lasting forever, though.

Well i thought it might be a little weak, Maybe I'll tell them to use a fiberglass pan. they have a single unit fiberglass shower now. so maybe tile the walls and use a fiberglass pan. thanks for you thoughts.

Sounds like the best idea. Might wanna block up them thin walls good. Long story, but I've seen a the insides of the walls of my g'ma's trailer when a .45 went through five of them and the stock fiberglass shower, not much there.

On second thought i think I'll tell them to have their crack repaired by a fiberglass man. Less expensive too.

On that note, we fixed that hole with Bondo and color matched it with automotive paint, pink I think it was. As to the color of my neck, yes, it is red.
