cleaning white powder out of dark brown grout

I have sheetrock powder that I cannot get out of dark brown grout. I have tried scrubbing with basic soap and water, but it's not getting it all out.

Are there any cleaning products or techniques that will fix this problem? I really don't want to put more grout over what I already have.

Thanks!

One of the problems with sheetrock dust is the particles are so tiny they imbed into surfaces and are difficult to remove.Typically a dish soap and water, one that produces a lot of bubbles,a grout brush to dislodge it, then a good wetvac will work pretty well. As a distant second an acidic cleaner and said grout brush and wetvac, vut i would use the first idea first.

Hi Jenca, Welcome!

I agree with Dave. I have also found using a tile & stone specific neutral pH cleaner (mixed to a stronger solution) and a good grout sponge, also help dislodge those fine particles (over a brush). The wet vac with a crevice nozzle will also help.

As always, TEST first.

For more aggressive cleaning you could try Prosoco's Tile & Grout Cleaner
