Adding Border Tile

I recently had to replace our fiberglass shower pan and it being 8 years old I couldn't find the exact one we had purchased.

I removed the bottom row of 12 x 12 tiles to replace the pan and of course the new one is about an inch shorter than the original.

Now that I have replaced the tiles I have a 1 inch gap from the bottom of the tile to the pan. I'm planning on using a bull nose tile along the bottom.

My question is what is the best way to adhere the border tile to the wall tile?

Perhaps you could post a picture? If I'm interpreting your question correctly, you're planning to stick a bullnose piece on top of the tile to make up the gap? You may be better off cutting your 12x12 and adding a couple rows of 1/2" wide glass tile as an accent strip so everything will be in the same plane. If you do decide that you somehow want to stick new tile over your existing tile, you'll have to use a grinder to rough up the surface and remove the glaze on the area you're trying to bond to. Once you've done that, a polymer modified mortar that states it can be used over existing tile can be used.

Welcome, John.

What method of waterproofing do you have on the walls of that shower and how is it continued over the tiling flange of that receptor?
