sealed now wanna stain

already sealed the bar tile. not satisfied with the color. can stain be applied effectively or am i in trouble?....thx jack

Hi Jack, what kind of tile did you stain? Probably better to experiment on small scrap pieces to see what works best.

sorry i sealed the grout and now want to stain it. used aquamix on the tile grout and now months later decided i wanted to use polyblend colorant to change the color. possible?.

haystack didnt comer out the way i wanted....jack

Jack, the sealer may realistically interfere quite a bit.

If you are definite about using the stain, then you would need to 'strip' the sealer out first. Not 'wash', not 'scrub', - "strip".

Use the stripper recommended by the manufacturer of the sealer if they know of one or make one. Check w/ Aquamix. They run into this and will know. Then rinse like a man possessed, let it dry overnight and then color it.

I agree about testing. I'd go one step further and say to test a section where you reproduce exactly the series of steps - first seal w/ Aquamix, then strip, then recolor. If you don't like the finished look, skip the project.
