A quick question for the pros about grout color

Not exactly a technical question but I know from past experience with other trades that sometimes the wrong choice of colors can turn an otherwise fine job into something that borders on ugly.

Anyway I just finished tileing my tub surround in my bathroom remodel and am going to be grouting in the next day or two. If my tub and tile were both beige it would be a non issue but my tub and ceiling are as white as snow and my tile is a light tan, sort of a desert sand color. I have 8x12 tile with 1/8 inch grout lines and I really don't think pure white grout would look that good. I have thought about using an off white or almond grout and using white calk at the tub and ceiling. If I do that would it look funny to run a bead of white up the corners or should the corners be a caulk that more closely matches the grout color? Also I am open to suggestions about using white all around or almond all around. I thought some of you may have worked with similar colors and have some suggestions.

If you want to see less grout lines, get the most blending grout color you can find. If you want the lines to stand out, get something brighter or darker. As for the caulk, just imagine that it is flexible grout... meaning the color should match with the rest of your grout.

Mike- If you can get Laticrete Latisil or Custom Silicone caulk it would work nice in the corners. They both make their 100 % silicone caulks in colors that match their grouts.

But if you are looking for a basic almond or beige you may also be able to find a 100% silicone from GE/Dap/Dow Corning at a big box/hardware store that may work too.

The grout manufacturers also make acrylic caulks to match grout colors but they don't hold up as well in wet areas.
