better method?
I have 2000' of 2'x2' crema marfil. I really hate this stone.
I can go double plywood ditra then medium bed thinset.
Or
Single layer 3/4" tounge and groove followed by tar paper
Lathe and mud set.
Which would be the best install for this Stine?
I'm thinking mud set

Scott, I would mud the floor and then set the stone with Med bed thinset.

I've never pulled mud that way. I've always mudded them as I go.

I pull off of mud screeds. That will give you a real flat floor and the med bed thinset will let you adjust and butter up if you need to.

Depending on howmuch room for height you have, plywood will be thinner, and then use Greenskin to save even more height. I can sell you 9 rolls- 
Laticrete 4xlt has a good price point. Is the existing 3/4" floor flat? Using a leveling system?

Double layer plywood fixed in place with nail gun and ring shanked nails, Greenskin, and 4XLT. You'll be setting tiled after lunch on the first day if the 2000 sf isn't a complicated mix of spaces.

By lunch on the first day? You're wicked fast Paul. I'd probably go with mud. If the wood floor isn't perfectly flat I just can't see planeing/shimming joists being done half as fast as mud. But mud and 3/4" stone is gonna have some weight to it.

We would fat mud and use our laser. Install 100 stones a day or darn close to it (some days). In and out in 12 days depending how cut up it is with sealing and such. Easiest 25 grand you'll make in this business.

Even with mud doesn't natural stone require a double layer plywood floor?
Especially with something as 'crack resistant' as Crema Marfil.
