Cross Line Lasers - whats todays consensus?

My Bosch cross-line laser is crapping out on me and I need a new one. Level is sticking sometimes and tapping it is driving me crazy.

Older threads show earlier versions of these so just looking to see what everyone else is using and why its better than others.

Considering:

Bosch GLL2-40 or 50 accurate to about 3/32" in 30'

PLS2 1/8" in 30'

Dewalt DW087K 1/8" in 30'

Just linked to Amazon for quick ref, not necessarily the best price.

Looking for something that can take a few knocks in the van, work in dusty conditions, accurate, but will last a bit longer than my old Bosch GLL2-10. Interiors only, bath and kitchen mostly. Whatcha think?

I'm in the same boat as you, Kevin. Mine is near the end and I just started looking at new ones, so I'll be interested to see what others say, especially about the PLS lasers. I'm hoping for the sharpest line and a very fine adjustment of the "self leveling" cross.
Edit: I'll throw 2 more out there for consideration:

Stabila 03200 accurate to 3/8" in 100' (about 1/8" in 33')

Leica DISTO LINO L2 accurate to 1 mm in 5m (1/16" in 30'!)

I recently added another PLS product to our arsenal. We have had the PLS2 old model for several years, but stepped up to the PLS180 for the second. Both are great lasers. The PLS2 has taken more beatings and stayed accurate when the CST/Bergers from HD have not. The PLS180 shoots an amazingly wide beam, but it does refract the light a bit where the glass windows meet. Not anything to affect the performance or accuracy, you can still see the main line very clearly, just not something I expected. I would recommend either of these without hesitation and will personally buy another PLS180 if the PLS2 ever dies.

I have had the PLS 2 for quite a few years and it has held up very well, and would recommend it to anyone.

That said, the PLS 180 has obvious advantages, but makes the jump from the $200 range up to $300. Though I'm sure its worth it.

The Leica also looks like a great value, because..... it's a Leica. If you aren't familiar with the name they have been one of if not the leader in advanced camera optics since thyey invented the 35mm camera about 100 years ago.
Edit- and look at the specs, twice as accurate. BAM!!

Like on other laser threads, I'll take time to dog Bosch. I have several Bosch tools but I'll never buy another Bosch laser. One of the lights went out on mine and when I called their service dept the lady said that these can't be worked on, they are disposable.

We have had pretty good luck selling the PLS lasers, especially the FT90/PLS2 combo kit. Both lasers, one fancy little case.

I have the pls180, and the ft90. I would highly recommend them.

Kelly, what's the 180 have the PLS2 is missing? I can read the specs but for an interior tile guy what's the real difference other than A 180° range and price
?

Couldn't find degrees range for the PLS2, so is it that much less than everybody else's lasers?

We often do jobs over 30 feet so a more accurate laser is needed here. The choice depends on working conditions.

I have a Johnson Model # 40-0921 to use when significant accuracy is not required, and a rotating dot laser when it is.

The PLS 180 actually goes beyond 180 degrees, Kevin, and I find that to be a good deal more of a feature than one might think. Much more useful than the PLS2 for my dinero.

I'd like to have a PLS 4, but not 'till my 180 quits.

Kevin I also have a PLS laser and I love it, it's in a bit higher price range than the models mentioned. It's the HVL-100, I really like the 360 degree capability, and if you get a detector it works great outside in sunlight. Think I paid $699.99 and another $130 for an elevator tripod.
