this is very sad.
I have a 13 year old Rottweiler.
she was my first dog and the best dog anyone could have.
I trained her in German & hand signals, she is super smart and still playful.
she's getting old and slowing down a lot now.
I remember the day when she was 2 years old and and could jump in the bed of my truck with the tailgate up, that has to be about 4.5 feet. not bad for a 115lb dog.
now she can barely lift her front paws up to the side door for me to lift her back legs in like a wheel barrel.
I am not looking forward to that day.

What a sweetheart. How old is that pic Brian? What's her name?
I don't mean to worry you, but when my female Rottweiler of about the same age started to slow down like that, it wasn't long.
Sorry dude.

that pic is about 5 years ago up North at my parents old home, she used to love to swim.
her name is Tyr (tear) is a Norse Germanic word meaning Goddess.
she still runs around, she just chased a bunch of doves in the yard so she is still spunky, just not jumping and up and down these days.
she does hate lizards on the house though.

Here are my boys. On the left is Taz pushing 20years. I've had him since I was in high school. On the right is Monster, Ive had him for 3 months and $900 dollars later. The reason why is when he went to the vet for the first time he had 2 kinds of worms, ear mites and he needed to get Bob Barkered. But I knew that was coming.

Jim,
I had to look it up after he posted it too.
Bob Barker is well-known for his work in animal rights. He became a vegetarian in 1979. That same year, he began promoting animal rights. Barker began ending each episode of The Price Is Right with the phrase: "Help control the pet population; have your pet spayed or neutered".

Thanks all. Greg, yes it does help to just be able to talk a little about it. Was starting to get bottled up and that's not good. We don't know exactly when, but it will be sooner than later.
Jerry, any update on Scooter?

Marge
We didn't get a call from the Dr. on Friday. Still waiting on the lab results.
Scooter has recovered from the procedure. We just have to watch that he doesn't scratch the area with the stitches. He barked today so his throat must be feeling better.
Will keep you posted.

I lost my King Charles mix in 2001 to lymphoma. Terrible.
Marge, I know what you are going through with Shaka girl. I know you will do the right thing when the right time comes.

I take her for walks and she sniffed one out in the woods, it's fairly wild here, even got bobcats and coyotes. The guy down the street has geese and the rats go after his animal food.Tina's a killer.

I have heard that outside food does attract Rats and Raccoons.
