Slate Tile Cleaning & Restoration

Hi All,

My shower is made out of slate tile and is covered in stains (see pictures below).

It appears the previous owners didn't properly clean some of the soap / shampoo that may have ended up on the walls. I also think they tried to seal the slate because we found a bottle of Stonetech heavy duty sealer in the bathroom.

We're cleaned and scrubbed using Dawn, Scrubbing Bubbles, Greased Lightning, etc... and haven't made progress removing the stains.

Any advice for us? Can we sand down the top layer and reseal it?

Hi Josh,

I'm no expert on cleaning slate, but others will be along.
