Well I've gone another route and have put in for a position at a commercial tile company. They had a project manager position posted and with my tile and Lowes management background I thought it might be a good fit. I've done one interview and it seemed to have went really well but I'll have to wait and see.

I appreciate the positive vibes, I think no matter what happens this process has already opened my mind to other opportunities that get me out of the labor side. So it's already a win for me

Will do Davy, what has made this whole thing even sweeter is I mentioned to a closer tile supply that has subbed me out before they might have one less tile contractor in the area if I do get hired.
They said if it doesn't work out and I'm still interested in getting out of the labor side they'd love to have me. They do residential work, and sell all types of flooring so I'd be on the sales side plus manage the install process on the materials they sell.
There'd be some freedoms to give up being my own boss now, but as one person I've talked to so humorously put it, it would be like velvet handcuffs, you'd have less control over some things but sounds like you wouldn't be hurting too bad.

Officially have signed on with my local flooring supply. Family owned, and they put their best foot forward on getting me in there which was much appreciated. Not sure what I need to change on here to reflect that (still view the private forum?) Maybe change my name on here?
Just In Tile's business number will be redirected to them over a certain time frame and then finally removed. The most exciting part as a laborer for me is I always had in the back of mind some sort of exit plan that would eventually happen but never could narrow down a "how that would happen". It was very cool to turn that real world knowledge into a different stressor that isn't my body. and of course make it a financially viable move.
I'll still check in and probably have a new set of questions related to tile industry and manufactures.
To all the tile guys and girls out there if you still love the trade but the labor side has run it's course for you, I literally took a chance and took initiative on some interviews on positions within a 45 min radius of me, and landed something that is a great deal to both parties and is close to home to boot (5min). Ready to turn the page on the next chapter.

CX, I've hired on to work at my local flooring supply, they sell and sub out flooring jobs of all types from tile, carpet, laminate, and vinyl plank. I'll be on the sales side, so help run the sales floor, go out to bids, work up estimates and in general customer relations.

Understand. Couldn't tell if you'd taken over part of the business or were just hired as an employee.
