self leveler as a wear surface
Does anyone know of a cementitious self leveler that can be used as a wear surface? Both over wood framing and SOG.
I tries a web search but......

Check MAPEI, Paul. I'm thinking they have some sort of topping material, but I'm not sure that it's self leveling.

I think CX may have nailed it with this product.
A phone call to Mapei is in order.

Paul, CX is right on the money with his recommendation. Ultratop PC is designed as a leveler that can be the finished surface, either with or without polishing. I'll PM you our sales rep's phone number for your area. Because it's a relatively short shelf life, it will have to be ordered in.

The SOG shouldn't be much a problem to prep, its the second floor, as this is a condo type of structure with some sort of cementitious layer over plywood between the upper floors.
Covering everything is some high lippage slate with a shine that will blind your eyes.

Paul are you describing gypcrete by chance? its used on plywood in condos to get fire ratings and such...if so you might want to make sure the topping product is compatable. Ardex does make a product (sry I forget the exact german VX-4 rocket sounding name it has but I think its something 4) its used to repair gypcrete.
Im guessing you may have to treat the gypcrete(if thats what you have) first before applying a topping..make sure to check

I elected to pass on this particular job. Got too many other things to do to occupy my time.

I believe any of the drytek products from Laticrete can be used as a finished surface as well.

Ardex has products for SOG, but none at all that can be used as a wear surface anywhere over a wood-framed floor.
