Anyone in D.C. , N. Virginia? (or even Maryland)

I'm coming over to the states in September for a few weeks for a wedding and to visit family. I would also like to use that opportunity to see a bit of what goes on over there.

Being new to the trade (2 years), self employed, and only farmiliar with Norwegian ways of doing things, it would be great if I could tag along a couple of days and see some different tiling techniques, styles, and ways of running a business (running installers, helpers, "crews", etc..) From what I see in the pictures, tiling bathrooms and kitchens is quite different from what is commonplace here. Even the saws you guys seem to prefer are different (we don't have them here).

I do 99% residential remodeling bathrooms, kitchens and floors, carpentry and tiling as well as setup for electrical and plumbing certification.

Experience wise I have been working for many years as an engineer in the oil business and gave it up to be my own boss and do something I think is a boat load of fun. For the last year I have been charging out on my own, but still keep my mentor (old mud dog bucket abuser) company from time to time. I hope to have a couple full time employees next year.

Interested in both commercial and residential environments.

Please send me a private message if you would be willing to show me a bit of your world, it would be greatly appreciated.

Bill, don't let Rob pull that "for a six pack I'll let you in on some secrets" gimmick he has. Whatever you do, don't get on that motorcycle of his with him. He's still studying the operator's manual.

If we had a six pack, I'd be through 4 before he had his first, and out of bad conscious I'd let him have my 5th.
