tile outdoors?

I have a covered entryway that I would like to tile. Assuming that the subfloor is adequate, my concern is whether the weather will be a factor. I live in NY and worry that freezing and thawing in the winter will crack the grout joints.

Typical spec for outdoor tile in freeze thaw state is:

Sloped Mortar Bed
Sloped Setting Bed
Thinset Tile
