Euro-trowels
OK! OK! when ever I walk into a store of any kind the salespeople begin to salivate. Yes I am very gullible. Thus, when I walked into the Dal Tile warehouse the counter man convinced me that my life would not be complete without an "euro trowel". Well it seemed like a good idea so I bought two.
I tried putting thinset under Ditra using one (for about 1 square foot) the trowel used thinset like I owned stock in the company.
Anyway I have two of these beauties riding around in the truck and would really like to find a use for them. Any suggestions? Please be nice as my wife (Tile Lady) also reads these e-mails.
Also what size trowel do you use for 18" tile over Ditra.
Thanks, Grunt

I'd certainly not use a euro to put down thinset under Ditra...use a V-notch. I thing 3/16 is the prefered size.
I use a euro to put down 18x18. Works nice for me, though I'm far from the expert round these parts.

3/16 to 5/16 V notch under the Ditra. The Euro notch should be fine under the 18" but you will have to hold it close to 90 to get the coverage.

John-- Anything's worth a shot-- apparently he didn't get the second one, either. It'll be on it's way in a minute.
