Kerdi drain rough-in depth

I'm new to this forum, but have really profitted from all the hints. I am rebuild a small shower over a cement slab. Using a Schluter pan system, and the 2 3/4" rule, how much depth do I really need to allow for the thinset and depth of the Schluter pan at the drain lip. Is it really only 1" or do I need to increase by some magic number to allow for the thinset?

I see nobody's respoded to you, yet. I had the same question last week and was kindly directed to the wealth of info in the Liberry. Just search on Kerdi drain. Pictures and everything!

Find the Liberry link at upper left of this page.

Try it!

Brad.

I believe the 1" is correct, but there are a number of discussions on that in the forum - suggest a search.

Hi there, welcome! Do you have a first name we can go by? Like Brad said check here. If I'm doing the Kerdi system, I always make my own mud base. Haven't used the tray yet.
