Has anyone ever installed a stud guard type thing in their curbs? Like a thick strip of stainless steel on top of the pan liner before wrapping it with lath and mud.

That's probably a bad idea though. I think stainless will eventually rust in the right conditions.

If I have a shower door reinstalled, I would be nice to know that no one could ever put a hole through the liner.
