Looking for Kerdi Tile Installer in North Orange County
Hi All.
Been lurking on this site for quite some time. It is a great site and it really made me want to try and redo my master bathroom.
Well it has been almost two years now and still no master bathroom. I have found there are other things I would rather do on my weekends than work on my shower. So I am hoping you guys/gals on here can help me out.
I am looking for a tile installer that uses Kerdi. I have already bought the kit, just need someone to install it and the tile.
Have not been able to find anyone that uses Kerdi around here. If you know of anyone please let me know.
Located in Brea, CA.
Thanks!!!

I'm surprised there's not more bites on this. Is Shaun Hailey somewhere in this area? Orange County is a pretty small place right?
If all else fails, check the NTCA list and the CTI list.

The problem is, there are many contractors out here who still don't use Schluter. The guys I have got to switch from Hot Mopping went straight to the Laticrete system.
One of our regular customers is pretty well versed in the Schluter System however. You can reach him at DZ Marble 818-355-7604. His name is Bennie. Just let him know Daniel N. from Bonanza Trade & Supply referred you.
We normally don't recommend contractors locally as it's a bit of a conflict of interest but with the Schulter system, he doesn't have much competition in our Los Angeles market.

Jack, I know Chad is expecting. I would have recommended him but I think he's being selective about where he works for the time being.

I'm scheduling for the end of September if that's not too far out then I could look at it. Brea is not that bad of a drive from Temecula.

Sounds like there's some opportunity in Kalifornee for Kerdi guys... It's like around here, the builders are set in their ways. Here it's fiberglass pans and hardi walls, there it's hot mops and mud walls.
Homeowners, on the other hand do their homework and see the merits of the system. I'm happy to fill that niche here. Cali's a bit of a drive though...

Definitely an opportunity. Almost all the Kerdi jobs I have done I have traveled for. No one can find contractors that know the system out here. I now just use the Kerdi on my steamers but that's about it.

Is there another way of waterproofing that is more prevalent in Southern California? I am looking to build a waterproof shower, but I just happened to buy the Kerdi kit. I am not sold on it, if there are other ways that local contractors are using. I would much rather have someone install something they have done many times before. Don't really want to pay someone to install Kerdi for the first time.
I can always try and sell the kit on this forum.

Guys out here still hot mop. A lot of our customers have jumped on the Laticrete bandwagon however. Preformed shower pans and roll on waterproofing.

Hot mopped showers and Kerdi or surface applied membrane showers are two completely different systems.
I don't know why Hamilton hasn't jumped on this.
