What's the Deal With These Commercials?

Over 50 times a day. I'm inundated with commercials about adopting kids. One is a black kid and another is about a redheaded gal. After that, there is one about Smoky the Bear and "dragging chains" that start fires. Good ads, but at over 50 of them a day....gets kinda tired. I wonder who pays for that shit....

I’d take the adopt kids commercials. Here we get inundated with lawyer ads. They come on and bark at the viewer something along the lines of “have you (fill in the grievance of the day - been in an accident, born ugly, had a bad day, got insulted on the internet, live in one of these zip codes…), let us handle your claim. There’s millions of dollars waiting for you to call.” It just makes one want to scream at the screen “ENOUGH ALREADY”. At least you can argue the social good of adoption.

Just curious if this is a "Texas" thing or if it's nationwide. I guess that it is as it's for "Adopting Teens" and it'd on almost every commercial break, it's repeated 4 or 5 times. Gets tiring as hell...

Geez Laz. Don’t you have a remote? Switch to another channel or get a movie channel or just turn the thing off. I don’t think I’ve watched a full tv comm in 10 years or more3

Kelly, I'm sure the last time you watched TV it was in black and white. You're not gonna believe this but they have them in color now! Someone else can explain the remote control.

I'm rather certain my last TV was indeed a black and white, Davy. And the control buttons were on the unit.

I believe it was 1978 when I carried it out to the curb for the garbage truck to gather it. And I've never been even the tiniest bit sorry.

I watch very little TV but my wife makes up for it. I don't know how many channels she has but she still says there's nothing to watch.

I’d say! That’s a long time without the tv virus. Who was president then? Napoleon?

Peanut Farmer, Jerry. Replaced soon after by B Movie Actor, who fired me from my Controller job a couple years later.

Only happens on channels where I watch "Deadliest Catch" and stuff like Discovery channel or history channel....and yes, I use Netflix, etc. for no commercials. I was just curious if this was a Texas thing or is it Nationwide...
