Outdoor Granite Patio- Could Sealing cause Problems?

My outdoor patio, which also forms the "roof" of an apartment below, has been covered with granite blocks (Silverstar 24x16x1.25").

Could sealing cause any problems? Water not being able to evaporate from under the blocks? Freezing? I am worried mostly about the apartment underneath.

Thanks for any suggestions or advice!

Hi Alan, Welcome!

The only way to prevent grease staining on granite is to seal it. Since this is outdoors, you need to make sure the sealer is UV stable. More than likely, it will need to be reapplied frequently. Check with the manufacturer of the product you are considering.
