Kerdi/tiler in Long beach, Ca
My good friend is ready to start bathroom remodel. Bathroom is approx. 7 x 10', currently gutted to studs. He received bid from GC, tiling is 4.5k including setting materials. The floor will be hex mosaic with border, tub surround and wainscoting all around in 3 x 6", subway pattern. There will be 3 niches above tub, 1 niche has arched top. There will be accent strip. Tub surround walls will be mudded.
I am not familiar with pricing in LA, but I think the price is low for amount of work. The whole project is 20k, my friend is O.K. to pay fair/higher price for tiling, but has concerns about quality of tile work.
My friend preffers kerdi job, is here tiler/kerdi installer, bathroom remodeler from Long beach area who would look at it?
Thank you Michal

I think he was just price shopping, I met with him and gave him a bid. he decided to stay with the original guy.

I hate customers that waste installers time just to kick tires.

Welcome to the club. I get that all the time here in SE Texas. I tell them, "Look, I'm selling you X days of my life. You don't want that or can't deal with that....BYE!"

I feel bad for lati_cz. He was nice enough to try and help a friend.

I feel bad for Shaun. Sucks to waste time to be a "price check guy".

We all know that's part of the gig working for ourselves. And hey, you never know what business or further contacts may grow from this contact in the future.
One thing's for sure...it's pretty cool how folks from the forum support and help each other. Nice work, y'all.
