Wet Look Marble Tile Shower Floor

Hi - we recently had marble tile install in our master shower floor.
It now shows a big wet ring where the water is hitting the floor. Can this be fixed? What would you do?

I can't post links -- Tile is from Floor and Décor and is Bianco Carrara Polished Pinwheel Marble Mosaic

MC,

Welcome to the forum.

We hear this question a pert near every day. Natural stone, particularly one as porous as marble, will darken when wet. No sealer grout will prevent this from happening. The best you can do is increase ventilation when not in use, stop using the shower, or replace the marble with ceramic or porcelain that looks just like it.

Hi MC,

Carrara shows wetness better than most varieties of stone, but I'm wondering if the water might be pooling around the drain area.

currently conducting a study in this area with Pavlo. We are finding that sealers are retaining moisture. So we are leaning to NOT use any sealers on white marble shower floors.
