We're getting flooded here. Several roads closed, lots of standing water. A lot of rain in a very short time.
We had a big wind storm blow through Tuesday which took down a lot of limbs and a few trees. To compound things, those limbs and other assorted trash are now blocking drainage culverts, contributing to the flooding.

Was snowing here the other day. Might have a bit of rain snow mix the next couple days. Supposedly after next weekend it's going to be in the 70's.

Looks like no spring in St Mary's county again this year.

missed the rain (again) that hit south and east of here, but woke to 50 degree temps and 30 mph wind gusts. Daughter living in Denver sent pictures of yesterdays snow.

Both equally important for the garden, so I like them both. Just not too many of either in a row. Had .6 inches rain last night--first measurable rain since April2.

John,
Your six inches almost made it over this way. I got a quarter-inch of it.

JB--Think you miss read my post--I got . (point) 6 inches--not nearly enough after more than a month of dry days, but grateful for any that I get. Friend about 20 miles or so east of me got 1.75 inches from the same system. Sometimes you're the target, sometimes not, but it seems like my place isn't even on paper most of the time.

Same here. I think we got a half-inch today. My tank is down a couple feet. Starting to look a lot like and very large mud puddle. Supposedly, we've got some wet on the way this weekend. That's according to Zack on Channel 7.
How in the hell do you measure .6 inches? I know you're a burnt out engineer, but c'mon.

Shoot John, nothing to it. My rain gauge is calibrated in tenth inch increments, so 6 tenths (.6) is one mark higher than the 1/2 inch line. (Suspect you knew that all along, just too use to thinking in American measurements ) Had about the same last night, and am looking for that chance this weekend too.
My tank is about the same--dug into sandy soil and through some actual sandstone layers. Put about 3 tons of bentonite clay in it --helps a little, and also drilled a well so I can add water to it that way --enough to keep the cats alive anyway.
