Has been since at least '93 when Bennett did it. It was also theorized by many famous physicists dating back to 1926 when Schrödinger first set out the properties of wave mechanics and was studied in depth (to an extent, although never officially published in scientific papers nor put into practical experimentation) by Richard Feynman while he was studying the quantum states of light.

Still way cool, though, eh?

Wasn't Tesla also onto that? With his huge water tower looking thing ? And didn't Farady want to use static electricity to power the planet which that power could then be used anywhere without wires? Granted he would have a very hard time charging customers....

For when DIY isn't such a good idea...
