I give him credit for trying. But apparently he got tired of wrestling with the Kerdi band after one go, and only taped one joint and didn't tape around the other one "because hardibacker is waterproof"

Well, at least he tried SOMETHING. Usually in these parts they figure that "waterproof" hardi by itself will do the job.

A general contractor started demo on a leaking shower pan. Almost higher than the curb, and the silicone didn't work. Also no waterproofing on the tub end sticking into the shower.

started demo of bath today, switches in 3 separate boxes looked off, so i openened wall. Such a mess - burned wires, overcrowded boxes, wrong and dangerous connections, wires with no sheating. At least no drywall screws were used.....

Drain Pictures

Hi Guys,
Gas stations and restaurants are famous for "professional" cuts around floor drains. Here's one I saw at a Subway sandwich shop. Anybody got any good ones you want to share?

1'' Off Level

This ceiling was ready to receive tiles ....... but 1'' off level on 48'' is unacceptable .

To make matters worse , the back of the wall tiles looked like this

and before their install .....washing them -- no budget was allowed for it -- was not an option but a must ...
