Of course, many of them, the whole reason they're here on this site is because they have to go no further than their own bathrooms to see similar installations.

So, three years and 3000+ post it's finally decided that it needs to be moved.

As for the pic in 3172, much like Juliet (game character in the pic) is out to find the source of the zombies she fights, this post is a place for the PROS to find the outbreak of worst tile.

I agree with Kman's about what is written on the website.

The case for it in the Pros Hangout is because only the pros contribute to it.

The case for it to go into the Advice section is because it shows everyone what bad tile looks like.

The reason that it should go anywhere BUT the mudbox is: It doesn't mention Obama once.

I think it needs to be in the Pro section as I send folks here to see examples of bad tile work and to compare it to work on their projects to see if they have a complaint against some work done for them.

If the criteria for moving it into the mudbox is one off-topic post, how many threads should we go back and relocate into this section

My contribution today. Don't know the story behind this pile of tile debris I saw at the dump today. Thick mud bed with mesh backed glass mosaics.

I will interpret it as a lesson to never install mesh backed mosaics in underwater applications.

Too much debris for a shower pan. I'm guessing a pool.

Isaac, I was at the NTCA training Tuesday night at DAL Tile in Nashville. Gerald Sloan was talking about that very tile in submerged application.

It seems after several years of failures that this similar tile with a mess backing reacts with the thinset over time and eventually dissolves the blue color of the tile.

The manufacturers finally labeled the tile " not for submerged applications "

re looking at some job pics from a bathroom renovation we did in Tampa.

I came across this soap dish that had a small hole on top that was letting water into the wall and also into the hollow ceramic soap dish.

when we broke it to remove it you couldn't believe the egg smell that exploded out and also some gross funky white stuff. probably mastic.

but man it stunk !

Really? What a bunch of BS, sounds like someone has a stick inserted in their nether region that is not in compliance with ANSI 118.875 for diameter or deflection.

Perhaps I'll log back in in a few weeks, but as a hobbyist, I may not be allowed to.
