Brian you'r right he must of been on acid trying to make those cuts around it lol,but there is no doubt drain was sitting too low for sure.....if tile guy didnt know how to fix it,they've should of called the plumber to bust out the concrette around it and raise up the drain and then filled in with mud.

Oh well.....

Thats funny, I just saw a similar drain in a public restroom around here. Looked like the installer used random scraps to piece in around it
Does look like he was on a good one though

By the looks of all those breaks in the tile to get to the drain, he may have spent a lot of time huffing the sewer gasses

GC called me to expert witness an installation. Kinda disappointed they thought it took an expert to figure this one out...

Kevin is lying- it is a piece from his "second career" as an abstract sculpturist.

That piece is titled "Still life with Mer-crete and Silicone." #7 in a series...

Available here- http://www.shaheengallery.com/

Here's one I took apart a few weeks ago. They had left the fiberglass receptor drain. Hardie and thinset "pan", no liner of any type. Leaked on 5th use, no no time for mold to grow!

Good eye! You know your materials.

However this was #7 out of a limited series of 85 showers...
