I don't understand what you are saying scotty.... you build the curb out of solid mud?

The new houses already are framed with 3 2x4s so I add a couple of screws. I lath and mud the curb of course. Over slabs I always use brick because of the danger of wicking.

Not many slab homes around here getting tile showers.. I think I have done 2 in the last two years.

Jason, when we do a curb out of bricks or concrete, we glue the pan liner to the masonry willl Noble 150 and clamps it until the 150 dries. It works well, then the lath and mortar do the rest.

Jason. I frame it in then drypack it when doing the pan.. I use kerdi on my showers so its easy attaching the kerdi to the curb.

Recent Master

Here's one I'm finishing today. Notice the DBN's that are missing on the seat. That seat used to be pony wall that was about 3 feet high. Surface was 3 1/8" they sent me DBN's that are 2 3/4" x 2 3/4". WTF

Chad- nice- I like the stripe and the way the inserts are in the middle of the piece instead of the corner. Was that freehand or did you build some jig to fabricate them?

Sorry about the double bullnose.

Gueze,

I set up a jig. Cut one side then had to flip the tile upside down to start the other cut then freehand out the rest.

they also want to tile the walls to the ceiling around the tub and octagon window. Wish I could take the window trim off and then shoot it back on after sucks its stained. But should I run the joints the same or start new. There is a listello going in the shower and not in the tub area. So to me it doesnt matter plus the whole face of the jab is getting tilied so all that should line up on the outside and the shower inside jamb can break the split.

Dan, I would rip that wood trim of the window and tile it.

Brian, sweet looking radius you got there. I sorta fear the day I'm asked to do one.

it wasn't as tough as you would think.
I did a lot of planning prior and cut the keystones a week prior to being on the job.
so when I got there we pretty much just installed. not too much planning or laying out.
