No, this one is over a good old-fashioned california hot mop. It had already been mopped, flood tested, and signed off on by the inspectors by the time I got involved in the project.

Shaughnn, for radius cuts like that tub cut out we use a jig saw. And I've been using a little 5" battery powered circular saw too. I also use carbide core bits for pipe penetrations (sometimes just use the razor for this as well and kinda gnarl a hole into it). And of course the razor gets used a lot. I like the fixed blade drywall knives, but I can see how the snap offs would be convenient. Never tried the sausages. The closest place to me to get the board doesn't carry em, although I can get em in Anaheim.

We never see hot mop jobs here.. I think I've seen one in my life.

Shaughnn..A Wolf Range!!!I'd love to see a glob of drywall compound plopped in the middle of one of those. Imagine the Supers' face when he saw that

Brannigan,
For pipe penetrations in Wedi, try using a cheap hole saw running in reverse. I've got a convenient set of Rigid hole saws, with a few extra sizes added that I bring to every Wedi project. Very clean holes.

Trask,
They didn't get any compound on the range (thank goodness I left my Fiberock paper cover on it), but they did smear a plop or two of "hot mud" onto the Venetian plastered hood,...and just left it there. Seriously, these are the WORST tapers I've ever seen and I've done residential hotels in San Francisco's Tenderloin district!

Smile

I would think that little saw would chip the tile real bad with the blade coming up in direction as it first hits the tile.

These are from the biggest house I have ever worked on. All the steps are profiled on site. 3/4 inch material. Not real easy to work with to get flat but, we did a pretty good job of it.
The center piece is not set because there is plumbing and electric under it. So they can put a statue of what ever they want there.
