Jon, beats me except it was modeled after the old west fronteir homes. They were built with the hosre barn built on to the house so horses could be taken care of w/o going out in bad weather. This house has been 2 years in the making. The barn is 60 x60 , it is now being turned into a party room / dance hall. The guy has close ties to the country music industry. I wont drop names but 6 or 8 well known entertainers came down the other eevening to ride motorcycles with the HO. Hammy

Thanks ...
I will have to admit that it is a lot nicer standing out side bull-nosing and polishing this time of year then it it was a few months ago . It felt as if there was a mile of it .

nice to see some tile work again!
Tammara,
Nice work on that shower, I like the way the glass blocks mimmic the size of the niche and the bench is nice, well done. Yes nice to finally see some tile work again on here after all the talk about guns, maybe we need to start another thread just for gun enthusiasts. If so I will add my 2 cents on my 9mm, got the permit to carry but it stays in my vehicle locked up. I think only Dan would be walking around with his on his tool belt and wearing daisy dukes. Actually Dan you kinda remind me of one of the Duke bros. Bo and Luke Duke, not to forget Daisy no wonder they name the shorts after her

42" tall niche. How much shampoo does a person really need?
Fireplace hearth. How to leave an acceptable expansion joint between the drypack and the wood when the mosaic is so tiny? I feel like the edge is a little unsupported. Didn't want the look of Schluter metal.

Matt,
Would 30# roofing felt have worked as your expansion break here, between the float and the floor?

nice hearth and the trim
Matt,
I like the hearth, looks great and the wood molding transition is a nice
way to finish it. On your tub surround, what are the shower walls and the niche? the material. Are they going to be using those new long neck bottles of shampoo

Matt,
How did you bond your mud to the brick did you use wire and stub nails? Looks good. I love seeing other guys throw mud around.

Matt,
I use either 1/8" or 1/4" cork. Takes floor finish nicely.

Try using sill sealer. It's a 6" roll of 1/4" thick flexible foam insulation. That's what I used in those steam rooms I did a few years ago where the mud walls hit the Durock ceiling. It worked perfectly.
