Thanks for the compliments!
The wood ceiling was brought up on the initial meeting but they wanted to keep it as is. That space was a daily-use shower before and will continue to be.

That is just going to rot out in a daily use shower. Not too mention the mold growth

I, on the other hand, will wager that shower will have long since been replaced for other reasons before that wall rots to the extent of needing replacement.

This house was built in the '60s and it's the master bath. It's pretty tough for me to demand that it get covered when it's got 50+ years of history behind it.

The only thing that bothers me is when you look at the niche the tiles pattern at doesn't line up. I know thats because you continued the pattern from through the niche but it throws off the flow.

First off amazing work Jim, your game has really come a long way since I last saw your work. You have taken it up a notch. In reference to Karl's post I see his point on the flow but also compliment you on the way you took everything through. I guess it is just a matter of choice. I will add that this is the reason we many times see a different tile in the niche. Always a preference there is no right or wrong because we all see something different, though looking at the same thing kinda like a painting. I might add I like the way you shaped the niche to follow the roof line. Impressive.

Customer said she wanted all 3 walls in herringbone. I thought it might be a little too much but in any case the customer is always right since she was writing the check. Turned out ok. Because she was set on using black grout I decided to use white sillycone in the corners.

Howdy, Jon. I guess this means the rumors of your death were exaggerated?

That was a lot of work to get that Herringbone to flow that nicely. Good call with the white silicone in the corners.

Hey CX, yes the rumors were true but extremely exaggerated. Back to flying solo doing what I enjoy and raising my nephew. My only travel now is for vacation with him. I am excited to go back to Italy to visit my family in June after 25 years removed I will have a new appreciation of the craft I did not have back then though I did admire all the marble work.
