Cool tile around a fireplace.
It locks together and install with caulking and a couple of screws per piece. All the seam and screw holes still need to be filled and sanded with the manufacturer supplied filler.

The 'helper crew' showed up with;
1- A clark buffer fitted with carbide teeth
2- A moisture meter
3- A complete set of straight edges, including a 14 footer
4- Open bags of Mapei products in the truck
5- A functioning shop vac
6- The skill to use the above.
7- Asked which crack isolation membrane I preferred
8- Knows what an expansion joint is

My lucky day - exact halves on the right and left sides. What we cut off the top fit along the bottom - and its plumb and level !
We prepped the painted plywood with greenskin, then used an open bag of GTA to adhere the marble tiles.
Tomorrow we grout

Nice work Jesse, I don't feel so bad now, I have to lift most of my tiles 2-3 times too to get them flat and confirm I have good coverage, but that's why I charge 2-3 times more per sqft

pictures sent from the customer of a random linear Silver travertine
backsplash I did a couple weeks ago in Bradenton, Florida.
There were actually 5 different backsplash areas, 3 in the kitchen
and 2 in the laundry that they haven't completed.

Jesse, I checked and his lunch break was about 6 seconds... You may want to have a little talk with him about that.

I just want to say, Its been ages since I have been on the site and you guys do some truly beautiful work but going back 20 or 30 pages, decorators are choosing some horrible combos. The color combos are crazy. But I guess we don't choose the colors.
