Haven't looked in here for a while. Great work all, as expected. I thought Ray's bn's looked like a decent "design element", but I'm not standin there lookin at it either. Agree about learnin to bullnose tile, makes for some pretty amazin possibilities.
An Juan, good to see you're gettin your hands dirty. You goin at it full time again?

One good thing about mastic
Easiest demo I've ever done. All the tiles came off intact, could have re-used them. 30 year old surround, mastic over drywall with no moisture barrier behind. Grout was holding it together. Some damage at the tub edge but still functional. I don't understand why the plumber had to butcher it to replace the valve but it's a re-do now.

I take it we're seeing drywall on the back side of that valve that could have been an easy access point from a closet or hall?

Demo'd a bathroom today in preparation for a complete remodel with a curbless shower, heated floors, wall mount terlit, electronic shower controls. We have a little more demo to finish tomorrow when its cool enough to get into the attic and move some wires.

Amos,
We are a turn key operation performing all phases of this typical remodel from demo to trim out. Tiling is part of our services. We can wire and plumb an entire home, having had gone to secret plumbing skool.

Why didn't you just pull it down to studs from the beginning??
Why take off the tile first?

They probably would have fallen down and marred the tub. This way he can get them into buckets for recycling at the concrete yard and justify charging for demo.

There is no GC license in Texas, only for the specific trades; plumbing electrical HVAC. Anyone can pull a structural permit and frame a house.
